Your Wedding Checklist

As Soon As You Announce Your Wedding, and no later than 12 months before
  Decide upon a wedding budget.
Draw up a tentative guest list.
Set a suitable date for the reception and ceremony. Confirm them straight away. If your ceremony is to be outdoors, find an alternate venue in case of bad weather.
Decide upon the size of the wedding party. Traditionally, the number of bridesmaids and groomsmen is equal.
Nominate your Matron of Honour or Chief Bridesmaid, have your groom choose his best man.
Start looking at wedding dresses and cut out pictures from magazines of those you like. This is a good time also to have a look at the attendant’s dresses.
Check out still photographers and videographers. Ensure you ask to see examples of their work. Book these as early as possible as great photographers and videographers get booked out well in advance.
Have a look at invitation styles. The invitations need not be ordered until 3 – 4 months before the big day.
Book music, either live or a disc jockey. Start thinking of the music types you would like.
  Choose your wedding transport.
Commence browsing through travel guides for a honeymoon destination that’s perfect for you and your new husband.
Interview florists and book. The final decision of your wedding flowers isn’t normally required until six weeks before your wedding day.
Interview hairdressers and make up artists. Many are booked out more than 12 months in advance, so ensure you place your booking now.
  Arrange wedding insurance.
Six months to go to the wedding
Choose your wedding dress, and your attendants.
Decide on the style of suits for your husband and groomsmen.
Order wedding rings – many times the jeweler will need to hold onto your engagement ring for a few weeks so the wedding and engagement rings can match.
Book your honeymoon and arrange for passports.
Go through the invited guest list once again and check upon the numbers.
Decide upon wedding favours for your guests.
Register your gift list at a Bridal Registry.
Announce you wedding on NJ Wedding Services
4 months to the wedding day
By now your wedding dress and your attendant’s dresses should be selected and deposits made. The wedding rings would be made and back from the jeweler. Cars, photographers, videographers, the Wedding Cake, reception, church or celebrant should be booked and reconfirmed.
Contact your celebrant or church and arrange to fill in an “Intention to Marry” form.
Decide on final guest numbers and order invitations. Order place cards, thank you cards, wedding ceremony books and any other stationery you may require. RSVP for the invitations should be 4 weeks before your wedding day.
Keep a list of gifts received and who they are from. Ensure you send thank you notes within 2 weeks of receiving the gift.
All honeymoon travel should be booked.
