a vintage ‘look’

When I first meet couples, they often ask me if I can produce photographs with a vintage ‘look’ so I thought it might be quite handy to blog about this with some examples of what a nice subtle vintage filter looks like and what mood it can give to a photograph.  It’s not all about harsh sepia or yellows and browns anymore.

Most people these days have Instagram

Most people these days have Instagram or some sort of photo app on their phone, which shows that we love a touch of something vintage.  Using vintage filters is a bit of an art really, some photographs may look very normal and matter of fact, but when you apply the right filters and make the right adjustments, you can end up with a more interesting result.

creative and experiment

Not every picture is going to suit one style which is why it’s quite exciting to get creative and experiment.  I have always loved the look of old photographs even before they became a trend, but it’s not for everyone, and as with black and white photographs, it has it’s place.  I maybe wouldn’t suggest you have all the photographs in your album like this but a collection of photographs to have displayed on your wall at home can look beautiful.

When it comes to art and fashion

When it comes to art and fashion we’ve always looked to the past for inspiration, unlike some trends that come and go, dare I mention colour popping (black and white pictures with a subject in colour – cringe!) I don’t think this is a fad, it’s timeless and classic and I think it’s here to stay!
